HR Coordinator

Laporte Consultants is searching for an experienced HR Coordinator to work closely with our US Partners & HR team in Canada while serving as the main human resources and operational contact for our US employees. The role will sit in our largest office in King of Prussia, PA and be heavily involved in hiring, onboarding, benefits administration, the performance review process, employee relations, policy application, and other related tasks as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Oversees the HR needs of all Laporte US employees and work closely with headquarters on HR policy and procedures
  • Administers and serves as the point of contact for all employee benefits, retirement plans, open enrollment, etc.
  • Collaborates with hiring managers to understand the needs and roles to be filled; reviews job descriptions for vacancies
  • Development and revision of specifications and job descriptions for selected positions
  • Identifies the most effective methods for recruiting and attracting candidates
  • Drafts recruitment advertisements: posts and/or places ads in the most effective digital and/or print media for open positions
  • Identifies appropriate candidates and assesses their qualifications through review of their resumes, interviews, and other forms of communications
  • Works closely with finance for biweekly payroll preparation and logs all necessary updates and changes
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies
  • Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks
  • Oversees the employee onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Supports the Health & Safety program and works closely with our safety vendor
  • Plans events for the US team as well as the King of Prussia office
  • Helps schedule and coordinate travel and shipping for clients and conferences
  • Schedules meetings, lunch-and-learns, and interviews as requested by the partners
  • Files documents into appropriate employee files
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Key requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar administrative or HR role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, law, practices and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • COVID-19 Vaccination
