Mechanical Design Technologist

This position is offer in Vancouver

Responsibilities and duties:

As part of an integrated project team, you will be reporting to the Director of the Vancouver office, this position includes a broad range of consulting tasks. Candidates will be asked to perform the following:

  • Design HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems under the supervision of an engineer;
  • Perform 3D modeling and drafting of piping systems using AutoCAD and Revit, including air distribution calculations, duct sizing, duct layout, refrigerant piping, chilled water piping, and diffusers/grill sizing;
  • Prepare specifications and bills of quantities;
  • Conduct site surveys and construction follow-ups;

Key Requirements:

  • Technologist Degree;
  • Certification in Mechanical or Industrial design and drafting, or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience;
  • Specialized in piping and mechanical building design;
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit, specifically in 3D modeling;
  • Experience with Autodesk Plant 3D or Autodesk Navisworks an asset;
  • Process design knowledge is an asset;
  • Experience with sanitary process piping in the food and beverage industry is an asset.

Skills:

  • Technical expertise in AutoCAD and/or Revit;
  • Sense of initiative and attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment.
