Engineering Designer

The remote Manufacturing & Process Designer will work closely with our engineering teams to draw and assist design manufacturing and process systems for a variety of facilities and industries. This role can be performed either remotely or locally in one of our three offices in King of Prussia, PA, Chicago, IL or Columbus, OH.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide complete design support for process and mechanical projects utilizing AutoCAD and design review software
  • Maintain and update site engineering drawings to comply with client standards
  • Draw project elements and manufacturing drawings precisely and accurately
  • Provide P&ID and design/drafting support for offsite manufacturing plants
  • Create 3D CAD models for space planning studies to final construction detail drawings
  • Coordinate the integration of structural, mechanical and electrical manufacturing systems
  • Participate in remote client meetings as required to coordinate standards and assist in design and modeling
  • Create discipline specific and detailed component models for overlay and visual purposes
  • AutoCAD drafting of complete process and packaging systems
  • Design equipment layout and material flow diagramming
  • Assist in the selection of equipment and components

Qualifications:

  • 5-20 years of experience in modeling and drawing for manufacturing facilities, ideally in food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, or other environments that require bulk, fluid, and sterile processes
  • Proficient in AutoCAD & AutoCAD Plant
  • Expertise in 2D & 3D modeling and design software tools

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results;
  • Knowledge of post-implementation continuous improvement efforts and methodology;
  • Ability to influence clients, suppliers and peers into adopting « best practices » in the field;
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, listening and interpersonal with the ability to transfer knowledge to others;
  • Capability to engage and energize others to reach their fullest potential and performance;
  • Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency, flexibility and accountability;
  • Versatility in disciplines other than the one academically trained for is highly desired;
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Ability to occasionally travel to client sites.
