Process Intern (Food & Beverage)

Summary/objective:

Located in Chicago, Illinois and supervised by the Lead Process Engineer, the intern will support and learn from process requirements for client projects.

The intern will collaborate on all aspects of challenging projects, from conception to commissioning including making surveys, drawing CAD plans, reviewing shop drawings, developing concepts, writing specifications, preparing cost estimates, site supervision, etc.

The intern will be expected to work from our downtown Chicago office 2-3 times a week, and the remainder from home.

Requirements:

  • Third-year student pursuing a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Biochemical Engineering with a focus on or interest in food and biotechnological processes and manufacturing
  • CAD drawing capabilities or the desire to learn
  • Team spirit
  • Communication skills
  • Results-oriented
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Work collaboratively as part of multi-disciplinary design teams
  • Ability to travel to the Laporte office in downtown Chicago
  • Able to make occasional trips to clients’ place of business in US with teammates, mainly in the Midwest
