Mechanical Engineer (Senior) – Toronto, ON
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Participate in client needs and project definition.
- Review Client Specifications
- Utilities and mechanical designs
- Develop conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs, drawings and specifications.
- Write technical reports and analysis to support design submissions.
- Review shop drawings for compliance & participate in development of engineering standards.
- Visit and survey project sites for project related activities.
- Provide construction supervision, conduct document and field reviews
- Manage deliverables and project execution.
- Work collaboratively as part of multi-disciplinary design teams located in offices across North America
- Provide mentorship to junior technical personnel;
- Maintain detailed understanding of local codes and standards applicable to industry and projects
- Maintain a reference set of standards and in-house best practices.
- Positive support, client and other disciplines consultant interactions
Key Requirements:
- Current registration with PEO as a P.Eng.
- 8-10 Years of Experience in building HVAC, Plumbing & Drainage, Refrigeration, Steam, and hot water systems, as well as fire protection system design
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD & Revit is a must.
- Experience in consulting engineering in the pharmaceutical and/or food and beverage industries is an asset.
- Experienced in leading and managing design projects, proposals, on-site commissioning, and/or power system studies in a fast-paced environment.
- Good knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria.
- Proficiency in a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques.
- Flexibility to travel to client sites.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment.
- Experience with Revit MEP software.
- Be a team player with excellent communication skills.
- Ready to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of local, Provincial and National regulations and standards.
